Posting exams and procedures to billing ledger.Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing.Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.Anticipate and communicate with the other technicians at all times to ensure the proper flow of patients.Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.Refer patient questions regarding diagnoses or test results to the doctor.Have clear thorough communication skills when working with physicians.Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.Document any procedures performed by the physician.Assist with procedures such as lesion removals, injections, chalazion.Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.Will comply with HIPPA and observe strict patient confidentiality at all times. Medical scribes also generate referral letters for physicians, manage and sort medical documents within the EHR system, and assist with e-prescribing. Primary duties are to follow a physician through their workday and chart patient encounters in real-time using a medical office's electronic health record (EHR) and existing templates.
